The Beginner’s Guide to Resale Rights
Posted by Jeffrey
When you search for ebooks, reports or software products online, you often see the phrase “available with resale rights”. What exactly does this mean for you? Read on and I will answer this question for you.
Resale rights are special rights or permissions, that are given to you legally by the original owner or master reseller of the product, to sell the product to others. The way you can sell the product will depend on different types of resale rights.
Give Away Rights
You can give the product away to anyone for FREE. However, you cannot edit the product or resell the product for money.
Basic Resale Rights
You have the license to sell the product to other people, but that’s all. You don’t have the right to transfer the resale license to your customers. In a nutshell, you customers will not have the right to sell the product to their customers.
Master Resale Rights
You have the right to sell the product as well as the master resale rights to your customers. Your customers can in turn resell the same product and master resale rights to their customers.
Branding Rights
Branding rights means that after you purchase the product, you can change all the links in the product to your very own links to the products you are selling.
Private Label Rights
Private label rights are the most valuable resale rights you can have. With PLR rights, you can literally do anything with the product. You have the right to change the product in any way you like, put your own name on it and sell resale rights and master resale rights to others.
Royalty Rights
With royalty rights, you have to pay the original owner of the product a percentage of every sale you make.
You should have a better understanding of resale rights now, but keep in mind that always read the resale agreement put forth by the seller, as they may have specific reselling rules for the product.
